Baby Ear splinting for Pointy Ears

To my dear readers

I wanted to share with you all my experience of splinting baby Nicole's ears. I bought the ear buddies / ear splint from the internet and received it last Thursday. I took one day to read through the instructions several times. I wanted to be very confident on the steps of splinting her ears. I splinted her ears on Saturday afternoon. It was after I degrease her ears and left it dry for 90 minutes. The first night went well, she looked cute with the hat that came with the package. So it went on to Sunday as usual. I was taking care of her by my own on weekends. I bath her and did not allow the ears or the super wide tapes to become wet. I only wiped her face with a wet cloth. Everything went well as always. Comes night, she was sleeping happily and dreaming.

My husband was watching TV up till 1.30AM, i guess. When he came in, Nicole woke up (she is easily awaken) even though my husband tip toed into the room. Nicole then start rubbing her ears (both of them) and started being really fussy and crying. My husband was telling me, take off the ear buddy/ splint. It must be very itchy or have became inflamed. I insisted her to keep wearing it and talked really loud to my husband (which I feel sorry now). I then tried to put her back to sleep but she just won't sleep. We had to take off the tapes and the splint with the help of excessive tape remover, which i also bought from the same website. We then noticed that the remover was alcohol (We should never use alcohol on a baby). We had no choice but to use the excessive remover as the tapes were really sticky. After we removed the tapes, there was this really sticky thing remained on her ears and head. We had to use lotions to slowly wipe them off little by little. It took us 2 hours to remove and clean that up. She was filled with tears and I really regretted buying the ear buddy / splint.

Anyway, I found another solution for fixing baby's pointy ears without hurting her or having surgery, or taping her ear down to her head. For your info, I even shaved her hair just for the splint to work. I'm really upset of this company selling this kind of things, I don't mind about the money, even though it is expensive and has no money back guarantee, you should not sell something which will hurt a baby.

I will post the solution in another post, with before and after pictures. Thank you for reading and feel free to drop a comment.

First Pregnancy Experience

Good Tuesday

Nicole is now 6.75 months old and is my first daughter. She is a wonderful brilliant baby and I love her very much.

The pregnancy was not planned or unplanned, but I did took folic acid and EPO months earlier before being pregnant with Nicole. I had my *AF (auntie flow) as usual after CNY. Then I remember being really sleepy and need to go to bed earlier for the next three weeks. My AF was late for 3 days, and when we did a HPT (Home Pregnancy Test), we're trilled that I'm pregnant. It was 3 months after our marriage.

Morning sickness was a common thing, and I had mine up till 4-5 months, but lesser as time goes by. Then I learnt a technique that kept my morning sickness away, it was acupressure, which I will share with you all next time. The morning sickness went away immediately after 2-3 times doing the acupressure. I learnt from buying an e-book through the internet via searching at google. It was a good e-book worth buying not to mention the affordable pricing.

I couldn't wait for the three trimesters to pass by, as I'm so eager to see my baby. We kept all the scanned videos, the baby belly movements video, and we even recorded the birth scene itself (from the top). The whole thing was a good experience overall, and I did not have any problem for the whole pregnancy. Maybe the only difficult thing for me was getting up to the ladies in the middle of the night when my stomach was huge and all. Up till an extend, my husband have to carry me up from sleeping to sitting position on the bed, for me to get down and walk to the washroom.

Now that Nicole is born and is a wonderful and cute baby, I miss being pregnant again. I guess all mothers would feel the same.

Till then, see you all in my next post.

Thank you and Regards

Babyplus Experience

This is a sharing of my experience using babyplus prenatal education system during my pregnancy with Nicole.

I begin using babyplus on week 18 into my pregnancy, as it is the first week that baby can start hear. There is no significant sign from baby at first usage. I continue using it two times per day as per instructions, and as time goes by, i noticed baby starting to kick on the babyplus according to the beats. This is a sign that baby is learning and knows what the beat sounds like. There are around 20 classes, and Nicole gets to finish all of them before her birth.

Funny thing is, when i try switching babyplus to the other side of my belly, she kicked the exact place where babyplus is placed. It's an incredible feeling and my husband is fascinated about it. He sometimes reminds me to use babyplus if i procrastinated and felt like skipping a session or two.

As a conclusion, babyplus is a product worth buying and use, as Nicole is our first child and we plan to have X. (Secret) number of child. I will share my experience of pregnancy and birth on other posts.

Thank you for reading and have a happy day.

Regards
Cili.

Why Cilipadi?

Cilipadi is a type of Chilli, in a small form factor. Thus, "Cilipadi" is a Malay word for Small Chilli.

Why is my nickname Cilipadi or Sugerprinces? Well, i'm a short and small sized girl, well known in college for my speedy typing skills. They always say, I can pick you up with one hand.

On the other hand, Sugerprinces came from gaming through the internet, there's a gang called Sugerprince, SugerBoy, and etc. I think you all get the idea, thus I am the sugerprinces in GunBound. It's a great game that you earned avatars through winning $$ in levels, or your friends can buy them for you. It's been some time since I have time to play games on the internet. I'm a new parent now and Happy to be it =)

Acupressure

Hi All

If you Google Acupressure, you are sure to find a lot of information. It is different from Acupuncture, acupressure is free and you can do it anytime. It involves tapping certain areas of your body (from head to toe), with your fingers. It is so incredible that after tapping, I remembered being immediately cured of my nausea. It was mystical!

I will definitely use the acupressure again for the same reasons, when I'm pregnant with my second baby later. Of course with fingers crossed, this time I aimed for no morning sickness at all! I do hope to be pregnant with twins, but it also meant sacrificing my belly? I'm not sure, my sister's belly doesn't look like before she's pregnant now, after given birth to a twin boys.

Gotta drop off for now. Thanks for reading =)
